Young Lifesaver Award

This course provides a advance training in First Aid for young people. St. John Ambulance believes that it is never too early to start learning First Aid. The course starts with the Young Lifesaver and goes on to the Young Lifesaver Plus award.

Who is the course for?

Young people aged 10 and over in schools and youth organisations who have completed the Young Lifesaver Course.

What they will learn:

First Aid knowledge to complete a First Aid qualification for young people

Course content:

• Allergic Reaction (Anaphylactic Shock)
• Bleeding
• Breathing Problems
• Cramp
• Diabetes
• Dislocation
• Epilepsy
• Everyday mishaps
• Extremes of temperature
• Fractures
• Head injuries
• Keeping safe
• Sprains
• Strains

Course Duration:
8 hours

Assessment:

Final assessment made up of a multiple choice question paper and practical exercise by a St. John registered assessor

Certificate:

A St. John Ambulance certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful completion of assessment.
