Squadron Number Badge

Cadets are given the Beret badge as soon as they receive their uniform.
This badge is the first badge a cadet will receive for their brassard
This is the second badge a cadet will receive for their brassard

Cadets must be enrolled and must have completed the full syllabus of First Class subjects. Must have passed first class, completed leading syllabus and done 25 + hours of project work. Must have passed Leading, completed senior syllabus and 25 + hours project work. Must have passed Senior, be 15 yrs 6 months old, completed staff syllabus and 25 + hours project work.

An extremely high level of shooting must be achieved for a cadet to attend this Annual tri-service competition in which the top 100 cadets are awarded a badge. Awarded to cadets who have achieved their Full Radio Operators' Certificate and who undertake training in a number of additional communications modules and can demonstrate knowledge of the subjects covered.

Millennium Volunteers

Cadets must be 14 yrs old, and must complete Service, Skills, Physical Recreation and Expedition. Cadet must be 15 yrs, and must complete Service, Skill, Physical Recreation and Expedition. Cadet must be 16 yrs, and must complete Service, Skill, Physical Recreation, Expedition and a Residential Project. To get this badge cadets must achieve 200 hours of volunteering, and need to be 16 or over.

Flying Scholarship

Cadets need to complete GIC 1,2 and 3 before they can achieve this badge. If you show the correct aptitude you will be invited to progress to 'solo' standard and where you will need to complete a solo circuit. If this is successfully completed then you will be presented with your Silver Gliding Scholarship Wings. Cadets who have attained the Silver Wings and display the ability to progress may be invited to become staff cadets at one of the gliding schools.They will have the opportunity to undergo advanced courses whereby they can attain the coveted gold wings. This scholarship enables cadets to gain 20hrs flying of the 40hrs required to pass their private pilots license (PPL).
